Amu-Bukhara Canal is a large irrigation system built to supply water from the Amu Darya to the Bukhara oasis and areas in the Kyzylkum desert. In the 1966 Tashkent earthquake, the entire city was rebuilt with the construction of the first metro in Uzbekistan
