Traditional Uzbek dish consisting of rice, meat (often lamb), and carrots cooked in a kazan. Prepared in over 100 varieties in Uzbekistan, with uzgen rice being a popular choice for its quality. Takes 2-3 hours to make and is often served at weddings, feeding hundreds of guests. Recognized by UNESCO as part of cultural heritage
